The Lady Titans traveled to Jasper Tuesday night & pulled out a tough win vs. the Lady Wildcats, 53-47. It was a close game from the opening tip, with neither team really being able to pull away at any point. After falling behind 12-10 after the first quarter, Gibson Southern outscored the Lady Cats by three in the second to enter the locker room with a one point lead. The two teams traded punches in the 2nd half, with Jasper pulling out to a four point lead late. They Lady Titans wouldn’t go quietly though, making big play after big play down the stretch to ultimately pull out the win.
The Lady Titans were led by a strong performance from Taylor Singer, who posted a double-double with 11 points & 15 rebounds, which earned her the Windex Bottle for the game. Kamryn Miller had a nice all-around game with 4 points, 4 assists, 8 deflections, 3 rebounds, & 2 steals. This effort was enough to snag Miller the Hard Hat for the game. Maci Foster won the Lunch Pail tonight, turning in a solid defensive effort & making things difficult for Jasper’s leading scorer much of the night. Foster had 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals & 6 deflections on the night. The Lady Titans also got huge contributions on both ends from Shay Whitten (6 points), Brooke Goedde (6 points) & Claire Jones (5 points). Jones also won the Soup Thermos tonight for taking a big charging foul in the 2nd half. Despite fighting foul trouble all night, Meredith Raley led the team with 14 points & also chipped in 3 rebounds.
The Lady Titans will return to action Thursday at conference foe Tecumseh!
