The Lady Titans welcomed the Heritage Hills Lady Patriots Tuesday night for a big conference showdown at Titan Fieldhouse. Both teams entered Tuesday night undefeated in the PAC. The gmae was a back and forth affair early with Heritage Hills leading scorer, Rebekah Gordon, scoring the first 9 points of the games for the Lady Patriots. The Lady Titans would counter though with a strong showing in the first quarter by scoring 19 points. The Lady Titans really turned on the defensive intensity in the 2nd quarter and held the Lady Patriots to only 8 points and didn’t allow Gordon to enter the scoring column. With that effort, the Lady Titans entered the half up 30-23. The Lady Patriots and Lady Titans both had great second halfs with Hadley Lytton and Rebekah Gordon playing well for the Lady Patriots. The Lady Titans used a great team effort on both offensive and defense, despite missing leading scorer Meredith Raley all game and leading rebounder Taylor Singer in the 2nd half, to earn a very hardfought 65-52 victory. The Lady Titans were led in scoring by Claire Jones with 13 (3 3 point baskets) and Kamryn Miller (12 points). Other girls to enter the scoring column were: Shay Whitten (9 points), Taylor Singer (9 points), Maci Foster (7 points), Ava Weisheit (7 points), and Taylor Hart (4 points). The Lady Titans really wanted to put the ball pressure on Heritage Hills and totaled 28 deflections in the game. The varsity game awards went to: Claire Jones (Hard Hat), Kamryn Miller (Windex Bottle), Taylor Hart (Lunch Pail), and Shay Whitten (Soup Thermos). The Lady Titans are back in action Thursday night as they welcome fellow PAC opponent Southridge to Titan Fieldhouse. JV tips at 5:30 and varisty is to follow. Hope to see you there!
